Elmer is like my spirit animal ..err puppet.
Crank Yankers
Crank Yankers was my first television puppetry job. I was one of the core puppeteers for its six-season run, and it continues to be at the top of the list as the hardest job I’ve ever done. Each day I was assigned a full 2 to 3 minute phone call to memorize, focusing on the callers every “uh” and “um”. The memorization was mostly done during our off time and could take 2 to 3 hours a night! Back on set, the next day, we would act out the call with the puppet, doing take-after-take until we nailed the lip sync. While difficult, nothing compared to the satisfaction I’d feel after a successful call was complete! Some of my proudest work was performing Elmer Higgins, the senile old man voiced by Jimmy Kimmel. Check out some of the behind-the-scenes photos of my time on Crank Yankers, and consider booking me to perform on your project!
